Aftercare
Keeping your tattoo safe and clean after your appointment is just as important as a clean and sterile tattoo space! Here are some instructions on how to best care for your tattü and to keep you safe! If you do have additional questions, please feel free to reach out!
Day 1-3
Keep your DermShield Bandage on for at least 2-3 days after your tattoo appointment! This will help keep it safe. You can shower with the bandage on, but just be extra careful. Redness & soreness should be gone in 1-3 days!
Day 4-5
Water attracts all living things (that means bacteria!) Throughout this process, you can clean your tattoo with antibacterial soap and water, NO BAR SOAP. Wipe your tattoo with clean materials (Clean bounty paper towel or clean towel)! Bar soap and dirty towels contain lots of bacteria and increase your chances of infection. Being overly cautious will not hurt you during the healing process.
Keep your tattoo relatively dry and let your skin rest. Treat your tattoo as a wound and let the skin regenerate and close.
Day 5-9
You can start moisturizing your tattoo with a light layer of Aquaphor. This is when you’ll notice your skin might begin to peel and your skin is regenerating. Itchiness is normal and varies between individuals. Sometimes scabs may form from residual plasma, please do not peel or scratch those areas! It might pull out ink! Keep your tattoo out of the sun as well!
Day 10-14
At this point, your tattoo should be healing and any itchiness should be subsiding! Keep lightly moisturizing your tattoo and please DO NOT go swimming, take a bath, or submerge your tattoo for long periods of time! It’s not ready yet!
Day 15-19
By this time, your tattoo should almost be healed up! It should be settling well in the skin. Still, please do not submerge your tattoo in water for long periods of time! It is almost healed! If you do go out, remember to apply sunscreen! This protects the overall longevity and vibrancy of your tattoos!
One Month!
At the 4-week / 1-month mark, your tattoo should be all healed up! To maintain the longevity of the tattoo, please remember to keep the skin moisturized and apply sunscreen when going out! Also, SEND HEALED PICS, id love to see how your tattoos are doing <3
